Athletics day

On Tuesday it was Athletics Day. We did lots of sports activities.
My favourite activities was team building because we got to work together.  Next year I would like to be better/faster at the sprints.
When we did the sprints it was impossible to not be exhausted. I like how we did some races  when we did  the team building. We also got a yummy sausage for lunch as a treat. I was also chosen to run in  the relays for my house! It was so much fun.

Pasifika Mamas

We went to the Corban Estate Art Centre  to see the Pacific  Mamas. We had to take our shoes off before we went inside.

We made leis from fabric flowers, straws and string. When we made a lei instead of buying it yourself you give to your family.

Aunty Tu told us how to shout Aloha (a greeting from Hawaii). We also said greetings in Samoan, Tongan, Fijian, and Cook Islands.

We took turns with the drums. We saw skin drums and log drums. We did a girls vs boys competition who could do the best pattern (it had to be the same one they showed us) we used our hands and the boys won.

We also did a dance. The girls and boys did a different actions.

Cultural People

On Monday we showed our cultural people. We had to paint the cultural people for a long time. Four people from each class had to show two of the paintings that they painted in their class. My class painted a Burmese boy and a Samoan girl.

How many drops on a coin?

We were doing a science experiment. We tested the surface tension of water. We were using a ten cent coin and a pipette. We also got some water outside. We counted how many drops we could fit on a ten cent coin. When I put twenty drops on it kind of looks like a bubble. It is so hard to get to thirty drops without it spilling. If I wobbled my table it would spill easily.
